Today, IBA held our first general body meeting of the semester! We're so happy to have seen so many old friends return, and so many new soon-to-be friends who we'll get to know. We covered a lot of info today, so if you weren't able to come to the 1st GBM or missed something along the way, we've got you! Here's a recap:
- Our first Cultural Excursion is the Brazilian Day Festival at Penn's Landing on Sunday, September 8th. Join us for good food, music, and dance!
- Our first Philanthropic Event is the Block Clean Up on Sunday, September 15th.
- Associate Directors Amy Kumpf and Jeffrey Conradi from the International Programs Office spoke about the upcoming Global Immersion Trips, which are short study trips that allow students to experience global business in-person through corporate visits and meeting business executives rather than just learning about it in a classroom. These trips also fulfill the 3-credit IB 2509. This academic year's destinations will be: Bangkok, Thailand / Tokyo, Japan / Munich, Germany / Santiago, Chile. There are 20 $1,000 scholarships available for each immersion and applications are OPEN! For more information, please visit the Fox Global Immersion website.
- Members are welcome to participate in all of our professional development events, speaker meetings, social excursions, and more! Dues for the year are $70, dues for the semester are $50. Membership fees are due October 2nd at 2PM. Following that date, dues will increase $10 (year: $80, semester: $60). After October 2nd, only paid members will be able to attend our meetings and events. More information on membership/dues here.
We'll be back with more IBA news, professional development tips, and other important info, so be sure to visit our blog posts. And make sure to look at our Events Calendar and Activities pages for monthly luncheons, networking events, and more!
